Using illegal and addictive drugs in pregnancy

Using illegal and addictive drugs in pregnancy is one of the most painful thing you can do to your unborn child

The problem of drug addiction in the current generation is one that is very merciless and cruel even to the unborn children. A lot of our young ladies are very much into drugs and when the time came for them to have the fruit of the womb, their body is full of toxic substances which are very unfriendly to the baby. It is not just the previous use of these substances but even the current usage. Over the years we have attended to pregnant women who are heavily addicted to drugs and the good news is that when there is willingness to recover, a lot of damage can be prevented and those that had already occurred could also be corrected. In view of the prevalence of miss use of drugs, we want to take time in this article to discuss certain points about using illegal and addictive drugs in pregnancy. To do this, we are going to relay on the expertise of professionals from AWAREmed Health and Wellness Resource Center under the able leadership of doctor Dalal Akoury the MD and also the founder of the said facility.

In her care (doctor Akoury) many victims of substance abuse have regain their life back and narrowly escaped the hook of death all in the name of abusing drugs. For more than two decades now doctor Akoury and her team of experts have established a very strong network of creating awareness about drug addiction and alcohol abuse to contribute in the fight against the vice. There is some body from the other end who will respond to all your registration queries. And now back to using illegal and addictive drugs in pregnancy, if you are using illegal or street drugs, it can make you feel isolated. If this describes you, it is important to note that you are not alone. Illegal drugs are commonly used than you can imagine. It is estimated that about one in five young adults aged between 16 and 24 has used either of the drugs in the past year.

Therefore we are going to use this article to explain how different drugs can affect your pregnancy and your baby. Doctor Akoury in her spirit of creating awareness explains that the more facts you know the better for you since with such information, you will be in a better position to make well informed and positive choices going forward. And if stopping drugs is a problem for you, getting help is a big step towards giving your baby a healthy future. It will be very important for you if you are struggling with drugs to consult with your doctor or midwife to help you get treatment and other necessary support in good time. Like for instance you may need support from a health professional with extra experience in looking after pregnant women who use drugs. Such women may have certain concerns and difficult health questions that can only be addressed by professionals in that line. Some of the questions may include:

Using Illegal and addictive drugs in pregnancy: Is it safe to take illegal drugs while I’m pregnant?

When one is pregnant and is abusing drugs, such a person is subjecting two people into great danger. Her own and the life of the unborn baby therefore it goes without saying that any illegal substance is not good for your health whether in pregnancy or not. It doesn’t matter the quantity used, no amount of illegal substance can be said to be safe. It therefore means that if a parent has drug problems it affects their child at every stage, from pregnancy onwards. With that piece of information, if you are pregnant and you are also on drugs, this is the time for you to make a conscious decision to change, quit and give your baby a good start in life. This is very important and as a good mother you are you will do the right thing which is scheduling for an appointment with the experts at AWAREmed Health and Wellness Resource Center for the commencement of treatment immediately.

Why it is necessary to help drug addicts

Why it is necessary to help drug addicts: The benefits of helping out

Why it is necessary to help drug addicts

Why it is necessary to help drug addicts. This is very necessary not just for the victims but also to the whole societies

I once told us in one of the articles that our health is the most valuable assets we can ever have. In fact in that article I did mentioned that it is one asset that we cannot quantify its value into monetary by all standards. Even though various insurance firms are trying to quantify health in some instances, the compensations they give will only remain to be very insignificant compensations in relation to good health and life. This treasure is currently under threat and it is being attacked from all directions by different obstacles including substance abuse. It is because of these threats that we are now trying to understand in this article why it is necessary to help drug addicts recover from this epidemics of addiction. There are several benefits of helping victims get well some of which we discussed previously and we also want to further the discussion in that same direction even as we come to terms with the real challenges of substance abuse.

Why it is necessary to help drug addicts: Benefits of Early Identification and Action

Like in all other health complications, early detection of substance abuse is very vital for proper healing. Therefore because our children are the major targets of bad influence it is important for all of us to ensure that no trace of addiction is left unresolved. Any untreated problems if left to continue, it is possible that family members will develop their own issues out of the unresolved problems thereby creating further emotional complications. Common symptoms include headaches, backaches, digestive problems and depression, anxiety and panic attacks. Children of substance users can experience school behavior problems and poor academic performance and are more likely to become substance users themselves.

It is not easy to live with someone who is using mind-altering substances. Taking steps to begin treatment and recovery can be a painful process, but it is the only path that holds promise for something better. As long as family members deny that there is a problem, the problem will progress and so will be the suffering. Doctor Akoury suggests that your starting point in situations like this should be by seeking for help all for yourself. You can begin by restoring your own emotional stability by bringing in new direction and meaning to your life. You will be better equipped to deflect crises and arguments, and shift interactions with your impaired friend or family member. Getting help for yourself may seem counter-intuitive, but it is crucial for you so that you can cope better with the myriad problems that emerge and effectively overcome the obstacles to wellness and recovery.

Some people find when they seek help for themselves that the person with the substance use problem gets angry, perhaps because the efforts represent a loss of control. Also, getting help signals that you are serious about changing the situation. Some people threaten those seeking help to stop their efforts. Nonetheless these are normal set bucks and it is important that you remain firm in your resolve to go forward, and be aware of your personal safety. Remember that it is never too soon or too late for you or for the substance user to seek help, the best time is always now. This journey will not be a smooth one, there will be obstacles and challenges all the way but seeking for help from the experts at AWAREmed Health and Wellness Resource Center under the able leadership of doctor Dalal Akoury will be very ideal in ensuring that this problem is defeated and eliminated completely out of your life.

Why it is necessary to help drug addicts: The Ideal professional impact

The desire to help and make a difference made doctor Akoury to establish a health facility (AWAREmed Health and Wellness Resource Center) whose main objective is to transform each individual’s life through increasing awareness about health and wellness and by empowering individuals to find their own inner healing power. Dr. Akoury’s practice focuses on personalized medicine through healthy lifestyle choices that deal with primary prevention and underlying causes instead of patching up symptoms. Over the years doctor Dalal Akoury has been helping people across the globe find lasting solutions to their individual addiction related problems. Therefore if you or any one you know is struggling with any form of substance abuse, then you can be the best link between them and the source of lasting solutions.

In the meantime doctor Dalal Akoury is also reaching out for other professionals in various forums in an effort to improve their expertise in dealing with matters relating to addiction. Through AWAREmed Health and Wellness Resource Center, one of the leading pioneers in natural and holistic addiction treatment, doctor Akoury will be conducting the first ever Educational, Functional and Integrative Addiction conference for doctors, counselors, nurses and addiction therapists. The conference is schedule for August 23-25 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This will be conducted by the most influential group of leading visionaries specializing in the latest advances in natural and integrative addiction medicine, under the theme “The Future of Integrative Addiction”. Opportunities like this are not easy to come by and therefore if you are a professional in your own right and you would want to meet and share your experiences with the other colleagues then this is the place to be.

This conference “Integrative Addiction Conference 2015” mission is to provide prevention education, awareness, options and support to patients and physicians dealing with addiction. Empowering physicians to be involved in determining their personal “best answer for addiction” and promoting physician/patient awareness of a natural, yet profoundly effective, addiction treatment options that result in you “thriving while surviving” during treatment and recovery. Integrative Addiction Conference 2015 will cover topics such as addiction as a holistic body ecosystem derangement, the interaction between stress, survivorship, pain and addiction, the role of hormonal imbalance in the disease of addiction, the genetic and epigenetic influences on the disease of addiction, psycho neuroendocrine immune restoration essential to reverse addiction as well as new and future therapies in the horizon for addiction treatment including stem therapy for psycho neuroendocrine immune restoration. About Substance Abuse and Mental Health

About Substance Abuse and Mental Health: Admitting you have a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorders

About Substance Abuse and Mental Health

About Substance Abuse and Mental Health. the two conditions must be addressed simultaneously for any meaningful healing to be realized.

Are you struggling with drugs or is there any of your loved ones or anybody you know who is struggling with drugs? Drug addiction is not by any standard good for anyone’s health. People who have recovered from this scourge will attest to this. Even though this condition is treatable patients (addicts) are always in denial of what they are going through. This is one of the biggest challenges that must first be dealt with before any meaningful treatment can be administered. For sure without acknowledgement of the problem and willful acceptance, there is very little that any professional will do to help. That is why we put more emphasis about substance abuse and mental health so that addicts can own up and get ready for treatment. With that said and done, doctor says that if there is anything you need to remember then remember that substance abuse problems and mental health issues don’t get better when they’re ignored. As a matter of fact any time wasted will cause even much problem when treatment finally begins, in other words when dealing with matters addiction treatment should be immediate to rid of any possibilities of worsening the situation which is already frustrating. While appreciating that you may not want to be associated with drug addiction hence your reason for denial, surely you don’t have to feel this way. It is important to note that admitting you have a problem is the first step towards conquering your demons and enjoying life again. The following will help you come to terms with the problem at hand:

Consider family history – If people in your family lineage have grappled with either a mental disorder such as depression or alcohol abuse or drug addiction, you have a higher risk of developing these problems yourself. Meaning if this is true then you are not the first it had happen before.

Consider your sensitivity to alcohol or drugs – Are you highly sensitive to the effects of alcohol or drugs? Have you noticed a relationship between your substance use and your mental health? For example, do you get depressed when you drink? Interrogate that further.

Look at symptoms when you’re sober – While some depression or anxiety is normal after you’ve stopped drinking or doing drugs, if the symptoms persist after you’ve achieved sobriety, you may be dealing with a mental health problem.

Review your treatment history – Have you been treated before for either your addiction or your mental health problem? Did the substance abuse treatment fail because of complications from your mental health issue or vice versa? These will be very helpful to you in realizing that the problem you have is just like any other problem and treatment must be sought for immediately. Once you have noticed these then the next step is letting the professionals do their part by administering treatment so that the problem doesn’t escalate to some other complications.

Fighting substance abuse at the Rehab centers

Fighting substance abuse at the Rehab centers: How Addiction Works

Fighting substance abuse at the Rehab centers

Fighting substance abuse at the Rehab centers is good but the consequences of drug abuse could be fatal and costly

It is amazing how people make effort to defeat addiction. It is also amazing how many people who have done the right thing for a long time to eliminate addiction often find themselves relapsing into their old habits. The many success stories we hear today has very huge challenges met and dealt with on the way towards fighting substance abuse at the rehab centers addiction recovery can be attained. How many times have you seen or heard who is who in the society being admitted into the rehab centers? It’s actually the same old story celebrities check in and after sometimes maybe a month they check out with stories of a miraculous turnaround. And then, sometimes, they check right back in again. One would wonder what may have happen to the successful story that was told when they first checked out. In that state of confusion you would ask is it poor self-control, or poor treatment? We spoke to doctor Dalal Akoury an expert in substance abuse treatment and also the founder of Founder of AWAREmed Health and Wellness Resource Center to help us understand the misery behind drug addiction.

As a professional doctor Akoury reiterates that treatment can be very effective. But to understand how to gauge effectiveness, it is important that you are well informed of about how addiction works. Experts across the globe are currently agreeing that addiction is a brain disease with a genetic component, Doctor Akoury says. But it’s also affected by behavior. The behavioral component makes addiction closely associated with other chronic illnesses such as diabetes and high cholesterol. Medicine has not found a way to “cure” these diseases with a pill or an operation. Instead, they require a lifetime of treatment, coupled with lifetime behavioral changes.

While most addiction treatment programs set abstinence as a goal, a relapse isn’t a reason to give up on a patient as hopeless just as you wouldn’t give up on a diabetes patient who goes on a sugar binge. Addicts have their ups and downs, but you can take that information and work with it to see how to do better.

About 50% of patients on treatment programs remain clean and sober for a year after treatment, doctor Akoury says. But many of those who relapse don’t go into a black hole, she adds. Instead they return to treatment to build on the behavioral skills they learned during the first time. Studies show a connection between treatment success and the length and intensity of treatment. That usually means at least three weeks of treatment lasting several hours a day (whether as an inpatient or outpatient), followed by frequent attendance at AA or other group therapy for about a year.

Fighting substance abuse at the Rehab centers: Who Benefits from Inpatient Care?

A 30-day stay in a clinic used to be the standard treatment for addicts. But with the rise of managed care in the 1980s, insurers balked at the costs. Many clinics shut down, and for years it was very difficult to get an insurer to cover any inpatient treatment. Now some insurance plans will cover inpatient stays at relatively inexpensive facilities.

Experts say inpatient treatment is most needed by addicts coming from a chaotic environment or who suffer from a severe psychiatric illness. For example, if family members are substance abusers, an inpatient program will get them out of that environment so some intensive work can be done, Doctor Akoury says. By contrast, outpatient treatment may be fine for a patient who is married and has a steady job.

A homeless single mom in a drug-infested neighborhood might well qualify for inpatient treatment, experts say; so would a hard-partying celebrity who is constantly traveling between movie sets or concert stages. The difference, of course, is that celebrities can spend a thousand dollars a day or more on treatment, while the homeless mom is at the mercy of the public health system.

Fighting substance abuse at the Rehab centers: High Cost of Treatment

Treatment at most of the rehab centers is really costly. In some centers a patient could spend up to $1,200 daily in treatment. Such centers are completely furnished with all that you will need besides equipment that are directly beneficial to the recovery process. Some of the amenities may include a lavish pool, spa, gym, climbing wall and even equestrian tables. The accommodation facility will be of the standard of super five star hotels. In such facilities patients will be spending most of their working hours in emotionally draining activities even as they receive intensive treatment that delivers real time results. However the cost will vary from different rehab centers for both inpatient and outpatient. The relatively pocket friendly clinics would charge up to $8,500 for one month inpatient stay. This may still be out of rich for many people since many insurers are not very keen in insuring this as a product.

How to find a good clinic is and must be the starting point. If you get the best from the start then you can be safe and sound that the end result will be satisfactory. However you must have made a decision to go ahead with the exercise because your acknowledgement that you have a problem that needs to be fixed is the key to your success otherwise if you are in denial, then you may not make progress. A good clinic would be that which is staffed with addiction-certified counselors and medical staff. And therefore look for a clinic with medical staff that can treat the psychiatric problems that so often accompany substance abuse. That usually means access to psychiatrists as well as counselors. That is why doctor Dalal Akoury founded AWAREmed Health and Wellness Resource Center a facility which is equipped with all that you need to get over your addiction problems. You may want to schedule for an appointment with the experts at this facility to experience wellness. You may choose to go for the inpatient or outpatient and we will be of help to you.

Sex and Addiction

Sex and Addiction – Effects of Drug Addiction on Sex

Sex

Sex and Drug Addiction is a dangerous combination. this can lead to illicit sex, sexual dysfunction and several health complications

Sex is supposed to be enjoyed by the people who have mutually agreed to have it done. The feelings must be mutual and the parties to it must be sober and in good mind set for the action. Much as these are supposed to be the primary procedures quite often many people are going into sex under the influence of other substances thereby beating the whole mutual understanding. The question is under these circumstances do we have sexual satisfaction or dysfunction? Take for instance the media industry has made drugs, sex and rock and roll to appear to be attractive and glamorous yet addiction is fatal and can take serious tall on people’s sexual health. In many cases sexual dysfunction or promiscuity will drive people to self-medicate with alcohol, across the counter prescription drugs, and other dangerous substances. Addicts who complete drug rehab are also prone to developing new addictions to sex and unhealthy relationships which is hazardous to the society.

It’s is therefore very essential that people suffering from drug related conditions get to learn how to avoid negative sexual behaviors and besides that they also need to learn how to have healthy sex lives an important aspect of anyone’s well-being. To this end, we’re going to discuss some of the effects of drug abuse on sex – as well as the consequences of combining the two. We’re also going to be discussing about how people can get treatment and recover from their addictions and live more fulfilling lives.

Drug Abuse and Sexual Health

Despite their euphoric effects, drugs and alcohol can have severe consequences for people’s sexual performance and desires. Some of the most common problems of frequent drinkers and drug users include:

Sex and Addiction – Low Libido

Because of their effects on users’ hormonal balances, drugs can destroy people’s sex drives. Alcohol and marijuana for example are known to reduce testosterone which is the most important hormone in regulating men’s libidos. Cocaine, meth, and other stimulants can also cause a rise in cortisol. Cortisol is a stress hormone which causes the body to switch to starvation mode, prioritizing weight gain and low energy consumption over sex and reproduction.

Sex and Addiction – Poor Performance

Testosterone-lowering drugs can cause erectile dysfunction, leading to poor performance or none at all in the bedroom an occurrence which can be very embracing to all affected men. ED can also occur from the circulatory problems caused by cocaine and other drugs that raise blood pressure. Even when these specific problems aren’t present, the stresses of addiction can destroy both men and women’s sexual performance. As I have said before sex is supposed to be pleasant and enjoyable by both partners, none should feel less functional and inadequate because of sex related problems.

We are privileged these days because of the advancement of technology and education. If this article is describing your condition then I want to encourage you that all is not lost because doctor Akoury is offering lasting solutions to conditions like this. Sex and Addiction – Loss of Interest

Some heroin addicts claim that getting high is better than sex. Brain scans have even confirmed that the pleasure-inducing dopamine response to drugs is far stronger than sexual arousal. People who abuse powerful narcotics often lose all interest in sex, craving only the more intense feelings they get while high.

Sex and Drugs – A Dangerous Combination1`

Whether people are addicted to drugs, sex, or both combining the two can be extremely dangerous and the consequences of having sex under the influence of drugs may include:

Lowered InhibitionsAlcohol is jokingly referred to as “social lubricant,” and many other mind-altering substances can make users feel more connected to the people around them. However, being drunk or high can lead to dangerously low inhibitions. People who are intoxicated may engage in promiscuous or risky sexual behaviors they would never do while sober. This can lead to regret and depression, as well as long-term health complications.

Rapethis is one of the most tragic consequences of drug abuse. Studies have repeatedly shown increased rates of rape among addicts and alcoholics, as well as in environments that encourage intoxication. Rape can have long-term effects on victims’ mental health, and the resulting depression can make it much harder for addicts to stay drug-free besides having problems with the law enforcement agencies. Because of the rising cases of rape and especially under the influence of drugs, the world is looking at the issue of rape critically and differently. Today stringent rules have been put in place for such offenders receiving maximum penalties which in many cases are imprisonment for not less than 30 years in jail.

The Spread of DiseasesDrinking and drug use have also been linked to increased rates of sexually transmitted diseases. When people are drunk or high, they are usually not in their rightful mind set. In many cases such people are intoxicated and are indirect control of the substances they have used making them far less likely to use protection or other safe-sex techniques. They may also be more promiscuous, increasing their chances of catching a disease.

Finally information is all you need and you have got it now, you can chose to be patriotic and help yourself even as you pass the same information to other people going through the same experience. Call doctor Akoury today and share your experience with your friend after getting your sexual life back and recovering from your addiction related problems. Help is readily available for those people who will make that life changing call today.
